Heavenly Horse Stables heart and soul came from Girl Scouting. Our Equestrian Director, Jenn Gay, has been an active Girl Scout since the age of 7 and has been a lifetime Girl Scout since 2004. Jenn worked at the Girl Scout Camp Innisfree Equestrian Center for 10 years helping introduce horses to younger Girl Scouts. Since the closing of Camp Innisfree in 2014, Jenn has continued to help offer a safe, educational, and fun programs for Girl Scouts in Michigan. Give us a call to schedule your troop's next trip!

Daisy Girl Scout Horseback Riding.

2 hours | $30 per girl | min 5, max 15

Girls will participate in a Handled lesson to learn about using their hands and legs to communicate to a horse. Girls will also participate in learning about grooming and more! We highly recommend All age level troops reviewing their Safety Activity Checkpoints and the Junior Horseback Riding Badge booklet together before joining us.

Brownie Girl Scout Horseback Riding Programs

  • Lovin' and Groom Try It & Riding Round Up Try It
    • Learn your safety rules, get hands on and groom a horse, discover what it takes to take care of a horse, and of course RIDE a horse. 
  • Pony Ready Try It & Riding Round Up Try It
    • *Must earn Lovin' and Groom before earning Pony Ready. Review your safety rules, and groom a horse, learn how to lead a horse on the ground, discover how to identify horses, and of course RIDE a horse. 

Junior Girl Scout Horseback Riding Programs

4 hours | $40 per girl | min 5, max 15

  • Junior Horseback Riding Badge (GSUSA)
    • Learn your safety rules, get hands on to groom and tack your horse, discover the daily care, difference between English and western riding, and of course RIDE in the arena for a lesson.
  • Hands on Horses (GS Middle Tennessee)
    • **Must earn JR Horseback Riding Badge before joining us for Hands on Horses** Review safety tips, groom and tack your horse, learn about bits, learn about Trail Riding tips and complete the Trail Course (this is a "trail-like" obstacle course, normally used during our Trail Shows)

Cadette Girl Scout Horseback Riding Programs

4 hours | $40 per girl | min 5, max 15

  • Discovery
    • Review your safety rules, learn to take a horse's vitals, discover careers in the horse industry, dive in deeper about disciplines within English and Western riding, ride in an English saddle for games in the arena.
  • Trail Rider Cadette
    • **Must earn Discovery before joining us for Trail Rider** Review your safety rules, compare supplements different horses get and find out why they get them, practice tieing a quick release know, and go for a Ride. All rides will start in the area, the entire group is able to start, stop and reverse in the area with proper control before proceeding out to the trails. The HHS Staff has the right to KEEP THE GROUP IN THE ARENA for control and safety reasons.

Senior Girl Scout Programs

  • Exploring Equines
    • Review and demonstrate safety precautions when working around and with horses, learn to catch the horses from the paddocks, explore dental care for horses, discover the difference in breeds, weigh a horse and determine how much feed hat horse will need to maintain the same weight, and RIDE.
  • Horse Smart Leadership *this is a non riding program*
    • Review your safety rules, discover how horses communicate, learn about lounging, showmanship, and ground work, get hands "off" to move a horse from one place to another and without using your voice. Spend quality time 1:1 with a horse and try to build a relationship with it, participate in an In Hand Trail Course.
